Sometimes I cannot help but compare my blog to others for example my photos aren't as good as others or I don't post consistently enough or my content isn't as engaging as others. I think we can all have moments like this not just about blogging but about life in general. I certainly do not want to stop blogging but I think it is time for a change of pace. I want to go back to basics, post about things I love and post when I feel like it, not pressure myself to put things up and concentrate on connecting with other people and being part of this community.
I think this weekend really reminded me to enjoy the things I love and the people I love and not to worry about little things like how many posts I produce a week. I wore this outfit to take mum out for breakfast and to the baby shower for Brendan's soon to be little niece or nephew! I than went to a murder mystery party with my friends from high school. It was kind of fun overload and I will now have to go to bed at 9.30pm for the rest of the week to recover, such a nana!
Ps How cute is my mums new bunny?!

Amen to that! Definitely post as and when you like and about what you like.. I love this outfit, the shirt has such a great print! xx
ReplyDeletecute outfit! I feel the same about blogging sometimes so now I blog when I'm in the mood instead of a silly schedule!! beautiful bunny. xx
ReplyDeleteOh Megan! Great minds think alike. This the reason why I haven't blogged in a month. Like you,I compare myself heavily with other fashion bloggers. I don't have the right camera, I don't have the greatest back drop to take photos of my outfits, I don't have the greatest brands etc etc etc. Hence why I have taken a break. It's certain other blogs (I won't name any) that get the comments, the traffic etc that I think, do I really want to be like them? All I say is keep it real, do you what makes you happy.
ReplyDeletei know what you mean megan. I sometimes feel pressure about what/when etc i have to post a new blog. but then i think about all the fun i have on weekends, and the things that keep me busy during the week and think... id rather live a full life than worry about it im blogging too much! ;)
ReplyDeletep.s i love your blog for you honest approach to fashion blogging. You know we all cant afford the big name brands and get new clothes 24/7... x
I totally know how you feel! I'm going on holiday this weekend and was stressing about not being able to post etc, until I realised that if I don't 'live' then I will have nothing to post about so I should just take a week off and recharge :) Love your blazer by the way :)
ReplyDeleteLove, Rachel
I would love to give that bunny a hug!
ReplyDeleteThat bunny is ADORABLE! You look great in these pics, and I totally know what you mean about blogging. I've felt out of rhythm lately . . . like I don't have enough time to post regularly, I'm not posting engaging content, etc. I hope that I'll be happier with my blog in the summer when I have more time, but you're right that we shouldn't put too much pressure on ourselves!
ReplyDeletei totally feel the same way ... i mean i dont feel like i dont blog enough - i feel like is there any point? does anyone care what i'm wearing or doing? It does get a little disheartening when you compare yourself to those big fashion blogs with tons of readers but you are a real person. I wrote a post almost identical to this and got some great feedback and decided that i would keep writing because i like doing it. Stay cool xxx
ReplyDeletedid you wear this on tuesday? hehe cos i wore mine too and have a post to put up. i also was going to wear it with black and a green blazer but changed my mind! great minds xo
ReplyDeleteThat little bunny is SO cute!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about needing to step away from the Internet for a bit. Some people seem to only post what is popular right now, and you can tell when posts are strained.
I say, write what you want to write when you want to write it. I post sporadically, and that's because I post when I have the time (which is never lately!) and not when I feel my readers want me too :)
x Jasmine
Love the whole look! That green blazer is amazing!:D
ReplyDeleteYou and that bunny look so cute! :)
ReplyDeleteI totally understand about stepping away. I've realized that keeping up on social media + writing a blog can seriously be a hefty part time job. Lately I've thought about pausing it all, too. Life just flies by, and while I love documenting and writing it...often I just wind up feeling discouraged because so many other people are doing it better.
Give yourself space and write when you're inspired to do so! I guess that's the nice part about having blogs without any income connected to it...you have no obligation to turn out posts 5 times a week!
Do what you need to do so you can actually enjoy it. :)
Hello, just found your blog and am loving it! I know exactly what you mean, my camera's out of action at the moment so I'm constantly looking at the photos I put up, (taken from my phone) and judging them! But I started it for a fun thing to do so I'm not going to get bogged down with it! Love your shirt-I was going to get the same one but they were out of it in my size :-( The bunny is very cute too!
